These silk covered buttons are not for
show but perform the function of completely
covering the back zip, so that once fastened
you would not know that there was a zip
there at all. Each button has a
corresponding pale pink silk loop and is such
a tight fit that each is a time consuming
challenge in itself to complete for someone
standing behind the wearer, but for the
wearer herself, surely unachievable. And
that is just to fasten the buttons !  To
unfasten them, well . . . .  a sweet delight is the
bride who must wait helplessly for her groom
to undress her on her wedding night !
Luckily any grumpy or fat relations or
friends have already been cropped out of
this picture of Charlene arriving in the
church, so we can concentrate on the detail
of the front of the dress as already
described, especially the ‘Bo-beep’ style
hem and layered embroidery edged soft net
underskirts. Delightful ! No would-be
bridesmaid/ page-boys cluttering up the
view either. The bride looks embarrassingly
pleased with herself, so well she should.
Later, having liberated Charlene from her
wedding dress, we were able to take some
more detailed pictures of it, to show you
what all the fuss is about. First, a general
view of the back lets you see what we were
silk covered buttons .  .  .  .  .
